Fed: Man charged with murder in Canberra
CANBERRA, April 27 AAP - A 50-year-old Canberra man will remain in police custody after
facing court accused of murdering an elderly man in Canberra.
In the ACT Magistrates Court today, Reinhold Steurer was formally charged with the
murder of 81-year-old Michael Steurer whose body was found yesterday at his home in the
Canberra suburb of Duffy.
Police said Michael Steurer's wife, son and family doctor were at the house when officers
arrived yesterday afternoon.
Reinhold Steurer, who is also from Duffy, did not apply for bail and Magistrate Peter
Dingwall remanded him in custody until May 18.
