Critic's corner

Saving Grace 10 p.m., TNT

Grace grows accustomed to Earl's face.

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives 10 p.m., Food Network

Fried pickles? I've heard enough.

My Super Sweet 16 9 p.m., MTV

In the dictionary under "spoiled rotten."

PRIME SHOW

The Closer 9 p.m., TNT

A friend recently likened this show to "Murder, She Wrote." And,well, with all due respect to Angela Lansbury, that is so not true!"The Closer" is more like a lighter, Americanized version of "PrimeSuspect," especially in its more serious, racially charged episodes.Tonight, Brenda (Kyra Sedgwick, left) and the team go after a serialkiller.

Big Love 9 p.m., HBO

Bill gets input from his wives on the video-gaming deal. Thatshould take up the full hour.

Modern Marvels 8 p.m., History Channel

Chocolate.

ON DEMAND

You've Got Mail *** Comcast

Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, and writer-director Nora Ephron know just howto mix the comedy and sentiment. This warm, clever confection playsmore like their "Sleepless in Seattle" than like the update it is of"The Shop Around the Corner." Ryan and Hanks (above) woo on theInternet, unaware that he's behind the voracious chain out to devourher book shop. A bit prefab, but the faults are overridden by thecharm and appeal of the leads. (PG; runs on HBO through Aug. 12)
