QLD:WWF welcomes carbon announcement
A leading environmental group has welcomed an announcement by Labor and the Greens
today to put a fixed price on pollution.
Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD says a fixed carbon price will start on July 1 next year
.. before moving to a cap-and-trade emissions trading scheme within three to five years.
Ms GILLARD says putting a price on carbon is the most efficient way to cut carbon pollution
.. because once a price is put on something .. people will use less of it.
