Fed: Show more charity in hospitals debate - Brown
Greens Senator BOB BROWN says the federal government should have shown more charity
towards Opposition Leader KIM BEAZLEY and his family in yesterday's parliamentary debate
on public hospitals.
Mr BEAZLEY was forced to correct details of his daughter's experience in a Perth public hospital.
Health Minister MICHAEL WOOLDRIDGE described Mr BEAZLEY as despicable and a liar for
telling Labor MPs that his daughter HANNAH was turned away from a public hospital despite
suffering acute appendicitis.
Senator BROWN says politics is sometimes dicey but politicians all have personal lives
and borders can't always be drawn around them.
He says if there are issues arising from the way Mr BEAZLEY mentioned his daughter,
they should be considered with more charity than the government gave them yesterday.
