Vic: Melbourne braces for more long distance smoke
MELBOURNE, Jan 16 AAP - Melbourne faces another day of high smog today, caused by fires
burning on King Island in Bass Strait.
Last week smoke from the Tasmanian fire cloaked Melbourne in a thick pall of smoke
- giving the city its worst air quality for almost 20 years.
Last night, smoke from the fire drifted across Bass Strait from the fire on King Island
following a southerly wind change late in the afternoon.
