Impressions of Two NBTF Productions: The People Could Fly.
The People Could Fly, based on the award-winning book by Virginia Hamilton, was presented for children of all ages. This entertaining production was the offering of the Memphis-based Nubian Theatre Company, which tours nationally and internationally.
The play is about a group of "magic people" in Africa who could fly. When the slave trade began, many such magic people were captured along with others and forced to journey to the new world.
